I had a similar Exhaust Gasket on my Bashan WILL 200...

I ordered a Honda OE Copper Crush Gasket Part Number :

18291-MN5-650

Cost was under $3 from Rocky Mountain ATV/MC, or $5 from eBay

Well got my carb, choke and throttle cables this morning (that was quick) so of course I had to get those on there and see if she had a pulse, Fired right up!

Sorry guys I couldn't figureout how to get a video inserted so I just used youtube. It so loud because I have no seals on that exhaust yet, it's just hanging there for looks

Very nice. You're almost ready to hit the trails.

I think you said kick start in the other thread. Is the electric start working?

No the battery box is toast and they cut the wires to the battery. Now that I know it runs I'll get the stuff out of the way to get it rideable then start sorting out my electrics. Everything looks to be intact for the most part other than the battery leads. We'll see what happens when I hook a battery up.

Hey question for you guys, should the lights and stuff work if running without a battery or do you need the battery for all those things to work?

So my fork rust was really bugging me, started playing around with cleaners and steel wool but nothing was getting it. Then I remembered and old trick, aluminium foil. Well I got some of that added a little Turtle Wax chrome polish and started rubbing. Now look how pretty that is,i bet I do it a few more times and I'll have it pretty close to new.

Gotta love those old tricks.

Here is a shot so you can see how bad the rust was.

That is ugly; I hope you're successful in getting all of the rust out.

I've never heard of using aluminum foil. Do you use it in place of a cloth?

Wink

I see the green on tread. Being out in wide open rain sun atmosphere for who knows how long, no wonder the thing didn't rust to pieces.

You will have to reclaim a thing two (or a new green Hawk) and get Mrs Tso to start riding! Do the class thing together, it's a good thing.

Thing 1 and Thing 2.

Yes, you just use some cleaning product like Turtle Wax Chrome cleaner and rub it with tinfoil. The top is the after pic the bottom before so you can get an idea how effective it is.

That's how I was doing it too however, with the bike sitting up right it hit the skid plate and went everywhere.

Man I hate having to admit I was wrong but I was wrong. Apparently what I thought was a Pep Boys exhaust fix was actually the factory parts. I ordered the bushing and washer from Kazuma and got the same dis-formed stuff I had to dig out of the pipe and head when I pulled the exhaust. I don't even know what this stuff is but it leaves you black like pencil lead and has the texture of burnt wood.

I'm going to need to get a couple of those big bushings until I can come up with an alternative.
