Jerry, I have that skid plate ready to go. Just need time. I want to wait for my rotor to get here and just have a day to tear it all apart and do the work at once.

Thank you dpl096. I am quite pleased with how it turned out.

I can not figure out how to rotate these pics properly in the forums. They open fine on my local drive.

Anyway, here's the install. I was going to mount it like JerryHawk250 but I put a wrench on the engine mount bolt and started turning and it was like a knife in butter, the chinese "steel" nut just melted into a circle. So, I mounted horizontally up high, above the air flow to the head and I cut the back side of the front fender (not shown) to allow unrestricted air flow to the cooler. The lines are unprotected which I really don't like but, I only ride this bike on pavement, gravel or nice dirt paths, no brush hogging or rock climbing so it will be ok. Thanks for the help everyone.

Nice installs guys!!!! I ordered a skid plate from csc, and we do not have a cnc machine, but we do some small fab work, IF we have time. I thought about making some of those skid plates for the china syndrome, but will see. Jerry is tied up with lot of projects as I asked him. I changed oil on our ttr225 yam, and the skid plate on that is bent to heck, so I ordered a factory plate for that bike, and the mount for that yam is cheezy. Sketchy and cheezy are words of Saturday.

I'll say this much, you guys sure do put alot of faith in zip ties lol. If I tried that riding at the Reclaim sure enough a stick would get ahold of them oil lines and give them a good tug, it's already happened with the speedo cable.

I thought about redoing my homemade skid plate with up turned wings that wrap up and around about 4” to protect all of that kind of stuff and the cases but I got lazy.

I only have 3 zip ties in one spot to space and secure the lines together. Thats the black ones just below the filter housing.

Gave the Hawk and the oil cooler its first torture test today. About 90 degrees outside on my way to work and I had to sit in a lot of slow speed traffic. Performed perfectly. I could feel the clutch start to fade a bit sitting still, but once I got moving, even at lower speeds it quickly went away. I never had to shut it down to keep from overheating the cylinder. Clutch stayed very consistent and the gears never once felt stiff or notchy.

Also, my rotella T4 is still perfectly clean and clear after 200 miles. Usually it would have already darkened a bit.

It is a worthwhile mod to do if you use your bike as a commuter. My cooler was very hot to the touch when I got to work today.
