She's doing really well. She gets an occasional ache at the incision but that's it. She has her follow up with the surgeon next Thursday and we should have the pathology by then, too.

We needed to get out of the house late this afternoon, so we ran some errands in the American built Canadian pickup and decided to stop at Portillo's to get something to eat. So, I drove her. She had a chocolate shake and beef n' cheddar croissant. I had a Vienna hot dog and fries.

12V power supply

I am making a 50 Watt power supply to use for testing stuff on the bikes. So I bought a small 50W Meanwell PS. I will need to make a box for it. I've got thin finish grade plywood that should work. But first, wiring:

Last night, being bored, I bought an AM FM build yer own radio kit. $29 w/tax.

This morning, Mrs.C made a sigh and said this sectional sofa just doesn't fit in this room. (I kinda sorta agree but I'm not going to let her know that) Though I'd rather slam a car door on my hand, repeatedly, furniture shopping we went. Very surprisingly, Mrs.C found what she liked at the first stop and decided to buy it, a couch and two rocker/recliners, then and there. $2200.00. I had to ask her who the hell she was and what did she do with my wife because this should have taken two weeks and a dozen different stores before returning to the first place and buying what she first saw.

Have a link for the radio kit?

As for me Set up the return process for the starter i ordered for the truck as it had the wrong bendix in it. Figured it out after a discussion with someone at a machine shop that the common replacement starter for the Olds 350 is actually one for a newer Olds 307 with a metric flexplate. But all the parts places list off this starter to cover all Olds small block engines. its either something silly like that or its for a th350 application not a Th400. Either way wrong part. The big block starter looks correct in pics. However i managed to get my original one repaired again. As well as having the broken nose cone welded and braced. i also bought a drum brake tool and a hex socket for removing brake calipers.

I got it through Amazon but icstation is where you download the assembly instructions. Looks like an easy job on a cold crappy day.

And darn it now i want a portillos chocolate malt..... been 10 yrs since i had one....

Just about any dive in NE Illannoy can make a killer beef sammich. Paisano's in Elburn has a beef and mozz that can choke you. Jester's in Elgin and Luke's in Carpentersville were my go to places when we lived in Dundee. Smother them in hot pepper giardiniera and the next morning can be slightly painful. There is also Buona Beef (meh) and Beef Shack(OMG).

What I also haven't found out your way is a good gyro.

Oddly enough, out here in rochester, most of the family owned diners have pretty acceptable gyros...

Alao, if you ever get down to the south side look up andys in south holland/thornton... used to end up eating there at least once a week, killer beefs, even better steak sammichs, and fries that are as good or better than mc donalds...

I've been at a couple places in the NY/NJ metro area where I've asked for a 'Yerohsz' and got the deer in the headlight stare. When I'd spell it out, they'd say it's pronounced 'GIE-RO'. I'd say that calling it that in Chicago's Greek Town would cause them a world of hurt.

This looks like pretty much the same unit or similar enough the icstation instructions should work. I may need to consider picking one of these up to try building.
