Its a trade off. CB's cheap to fix but you do it often. JB's are more expensive to fix but in general much more reliable.

Dealer's choice. IMHO the CB is best for a person who likes something different, is good with repairs and modifications, and most of all, has a sense of humor.

The JB will of course be better in most respects except price. I like both. That said, I would never recommend a CB to someone who is not a competent mechanic, or willing to learn.

I’m sorry, Phil. I did not know you had the CDI units in stock.

update barely running zong

talked to the mechanic at the dealer where impurchased my zong and he thinks it soundsmmore like exciter coil. the sales guy tried to act like he didnt remember me having a warranty but the mechanic remembered when i got it and told me to bring it in and let them diagnose it. he seems like he is pretty knowledgable so im takeing it in at lunch today. i will post my findings.

update

just an update hopefully the parts will be in today. the mechanic said the coil was definitely bad and the cdi had some hot spots so they ordered them both. i dont know what hot spots are but as long as it is fixed.

i will post again when i get it back.

I have heard NLA too many times. What happens alot of times is the part numbers change or are superceded too.

Sometimes alittle research will help find a cross-reference part.

i dont know if this isnt a advantage for the chinese bike owners the more the parts interchange the more they are available and the sooner some of the dealers of the off brands realize the sales are changing from bikes to parts and learn to service the bikes the better off everything will be. but on the other hand i have noticed the car makers will discontiue parts for some not so old cars, the worst company i have seen is ford, the guys who are not getting goverment handouts. i cant count any of the offshore branded products though, mainly because the expense of repairs totals most of them before they get to the point im speaking. to clear up what im saying major parts, engines and transmissions, for domestic brands are costing half of that of imports but you cant get a fuel pedal for a 96 ford diesel pickup

Thanks for reminding him Spud, I am also curious. I will say this, these China bikes must be running well, because the forum has been very slow!
