No it's right, and you're not the first to ask. They are actually racing tires and the tread pattern is meant to make the tire stick really hard during braking and turns. I haven't been in the rain yet, but I'll post when I do to see how they fair. I don't take any chances in the rain, and my wet rides are very few and far between, so I don't know when it would be. There are some Chen Shin (higher end) and dunlop tires that have similar (backasswards) looking tread.

Got to really put the tires to the test today, a friend and I went through some curvy mountain roads north of Chattanooga, Tn. today. He was on a Ninja 250. I was leaning the bike so hard in some of the corners that I thought the foot peg was going to hit. His Ninja would leave me in the straights, I could out brake him to the curve and pass in the curves, if I could see far enough through the trees to make sure nothing was coming. These tires are like hot glue! We got down the mountain and he asked me again what the website was I found them cheaper. I laughed, I can't believe how hard it went through the curves. He would pull me by 8+ bike lengths on the straights, then he would have to let out and brake, I would zip by then brake nowhere near as hard as he did. I bet if I still had my 46t sprocket on the back he wouldn't have left me all that much in the straights, cause I was in the higher rpm range coming out of the corners and having to shift in the straights and he wasn't. On a road marked 35mph in the straights and 20-25mph in the curves we probably averaged 55mph. I gotta do that again!

Avon tires have a great reputation. I have been thinking about some for my cruiser when I need new ones.

GREAT TIRES, good mod your bike looks healthy too, Im sure those puppies will take alot of strain off the bike from road use....bit pricey and I like alittle off-road ability which is why I go for the dual-sport knobbage tires but thats awesome, a most impressive addition!

I promise it'll be ok. Grind away! I remember my first experience with my new tires on the clover leaf interstate on/off ramps....pretty exciting. I've never leaned over on any bike as much as I have on my china ride.

I've actually hit a peg before on my YZ 250, back tire jumped and I had bushes for lunch.

I only run Avon's on my V-Stars. Very nice, very reasonably priced and very good quality.

Got them installed on my gy6,

Everyone thought the front was on backwards

The back tire I think is a 1/4 inch wider then stock, I can't put my chain guard back on... Gonna worry about that later. Looks like yours is pretty close too.

Yeah, it's pretty close and the chain gaurd is flimsy enough to touch the tire every once in a while. I'm not too worried about it. You went with a 120/90 didn't you? I got a 120/80 I geuss that makes the width difference. They're awesome, I love them. I hope they last a long time though I don't think I can afford to replace them very often.

I think I got the 120 / 80, but I'll double check.... Could have sworn I did so I wouldn't have clearance issues, plus the other size was out of stock and about $30 more. I do have a different swing arm though, so maybe it just mounts closer, it's possible it would have worked, but I never put it on, and it looked like the bracket was touching, and the guard had to go between it and the tire... I think I may make one out of metal, that just covers the outside and top.

I just double checked and it is a 110/80, so I guess it is slightly wider then stock, but not quite as tall?
