Okay! Despite the seller stating that he had intercepted the replacement mag cover before it shipped, it arrived today and it fits perfectly! Unfortunately it started raining before i could snap some pics so here is a stock photo for now. I think I may have found a case protector that fits the clutch side but that remains to be seen.

ZS169/162 and CG cover testing

I got my CB250 cover kit...

Long story short does not fit ZS 166/169 FMM engines at all...Sprocket cover could be modified to fit...

However a CG250 is an almost fit...Clutch side is about perfect other than my kick start lever fouling.

Stator side will require some more cut aways around the sprocket cover merge area...but will also bolt up... the main issue being the 2 bolt vs 3 bolt starter transfer cover conflict...

the Sprocket cover could be adapted to any Chonda clone it seems, but its meant for the long cable housing type engines...otherwise there's a bit that pokes out. But the 2 mount holes should line up...

So I would not get these covers for 166/169FMM engines at all.

But I will be modifying the clutch and stator covers to fit my CG250 engine...Glad I went with black....

CG250 cover fit attempt

It's almost perfect for a ZS167 CG250 some modification required however.

CG250 Stator side

Using tin snips cut away a small enough to allow clearance near the sprocket cover region...(Not much material removed)

Ended up using 2 other longer 6mm button head bolts in the spares/hoarding pile.

Could not use the 2 case mount locations for obvious reasons...

So used 1 of the 4 crank bolt cover plate bolt holes as a side fixing point...
add 1 of the spacers included in the kit...

Only the top right starter cover bolt can be used as a mount the other 2 a just through holes...

used a longer M6 and the other 2 spacers...

On solid and offers protection within a more function vs aesthetic situation.

the Clutch side cover was bolt on no problemo...

Awesome job! I'm surprised at how well it fits the CG250. I don't see how the clutch side cover could be made to fit the ZS172 without removing so much material that it would render it useless and stupid looking. Mag side fits perfectly but I kind of regret not choosing black. I really hope my new clutch side cover fits. Below is the new CB250F clutch cover I ordered:

So I finally received the new clutch side cover I ordered from Alibaba in early September. It didn't fit but after a little trimming, it fits okay. Definitely not a perfect fit like the mag side but I may live with it.
