You're both going to love the Bell! I researched the heck out of helmets before I dropped the cash on one. MIPS protection was highest on my list. I didn't have $600 to drop on a bucket, either.

I have asthma. The design of the full face section provides plenty of airflow, which reduces the possibility of a flare-up while riding.

Although I really like the Bell MX9 and HJC DS-X1 I also want a drop down sun visor so I ordered a LS2 Metro V3 instead. I wasn't even looking for a modular but at 1/2 price, why not try it?

I have a bell MX9 too. The peak doesn't catch to much up or down but it will side to side, i still like it for shading out direct sunlight, could remove it any time.

As for a drop down sun visor...I just wear a pair of thin frame safety sunglasses from the hardware store.

I got the Scorpion EXO-AT950 in Hi-Viz. I love it so far. The flip of front and drop down sun shade where the big reasons I got this one. I have a funky shaped head so finding helmets is hard for me. I ended up "impacting" the front in a little due to a pointy forhead and then added some extra padding in to make sure it gripped my head better. My only complaint is it not coming with a pinlock visor. I haven't gotten one for it yet but I will. If you have a tendency to breath with your mouth open then a pinlock is a must.
