Jerry, yeah it is not in there, I was just using "where the stock oil screen was" as a reference point.
Just put some oil in the cooler and connect all the lines. The oil pump sucks oil from the base. So basicly the pump sucks the oil through the cooler from the base. The system has to be sealed in order to work.

Thanks fellas, love this forum!

My cooler looks just like that but I have a spring on mine and the doohickey is two pieces.

I started it and let it run for a while I took my infrared temp gauge and checked it. oil was 163 degrees and cooler was 149 when I checked it. So some oil has to be going through.

Valves were out if adjustment by a few thousandths and rattled. I got them to .003 and they are now quiet. I was going to take a piece of angle aluminum as other members and mount the cooler by the wing but I got tired and the body started aching. So I mounted it on the frame behind the front wheel horizontally.

I essentially made it where if I drive off road and catch a root, it will rip the whole thing off. I will either re-mount it or make a skid plate out of an old jeep skid plate I have that will cover the lines. It is a mess. I will post a pic of it after the ibuprofen kick in to help my old butt function. (Muay Thai boxing is fun to train but when you spar an athletic 26 year old kid and you realize you are almost double his age and slow, out of shape, not nearly as strong, and not very good in the first place............ well you are me)

Anyway. Again, thanks guys. you guys are the best.

Glad you got it working. You can always go back and change the mount at a later time.

Thanks. I took it all apart again about 8pm. I took a pic of the adapter thing. Like I said, mine had a spring and I noticed the spring was in front of the oil hole. So I beveled the edged with my dremel so oil could flow more freely. I think it helped. Here is the pic.

I should have spent more time on the chamfer but it was getting late and I was getting tired. It should flow better for sure.

Anyway, thanks for the advice.

well that one looks different than the one I have. Do you have another picture that we can see the whole adapter? Are you sure that spring goes on there?

No Jerry I do not.

But that is how it came. The adapter is two pieces. the spring goes between the main adapter part and the part that mates with the back of the chamber where the screen used to go. I assume the spring presses the metal part with the gasket tight. They do not bolt together. one slides over the other.

this is what I ordered. It is just a wee bit different.

Must be a change in design. My adapter is like the one in the pictures. Just the adapter with a blue seal.

Yep, that is what I expected. maybe the spring allows a bypass? I need to drain some oil out of it as I am over the mark and I will giver her a good ride and post up what I find.

I would say the cooler system that connects to the RH cover would be a better version (CG motors)
No pic but can supply yet complex as many possible slight variations
