This is what I use: http://www.ebay.com/itm/OPERATOR-MAN...EAAOSwDwtUovqf

A little brake cleaner removes the symbols on the canister, and the two legs make for easy mounting. I've seen them bolted to the top of a trunk, underneath the carrying rack, on top or underneath panniers, strapped to forks...

The bonus is that one of these will fit inside: http://www.ebay.com/itm/MSR-30oz-Hik...8AAOSwrklVHurn That allows you to carry a little more fuel, just in case.

I've used those Farm Supply canisters on my Suzuki V-Strom, Kawasaki KLR650, Kawasaki Versys and Honda NC700. Easy to install and very sturdy. I use rubbing alcohol to remove the yellow stencils. And the 30oz MSR fuel bottle fits nicely inside. And the canisters are very inexpensive.

Nice job. I also used the Harbor Freight Welding Rod Container to make a tool tube for my Honda XR650L.
