If worse comes to worse, I will see if I can get a CDI unit for you from Zongshen America, Pliskin. However, I am interested to see how well the Taobao website works. I keep hearing people recommend this website. I wonder how difficult it is to actually purchase merchandise directly from China? :?:

Thank you Spud. I have another source here in Australia. They also told me they can get other parts within a month.
Yes i am interested too, that's why i am doing this just to see. Want to see how good they are for the future.
But i am going through the agent not directly. Going directly is another option, what humanbeing suggested.

You're welcome. I hope the agent facilitates the process. However, so far that verdict is still out. Is the price the same whether you use the agent, or purchase directly? I wonder how much shipping will cost? :?:

Agents charge 15 percent of the items coast. Plus domestic postage from seller to agent. Plus international shipping.
Those are some of the questions i am waiting an answer to. So yes direct would be the cheapest.

Thanks for the information. I wonder if a direct purchase would also be faster. :?:

Yes they are. But when you add items in your shopping cart on taobaotrends.com
it will convert to US dollars and give you the total value of the items not the other charges.

If that's the case, you win. AFAIK, the Aussie dollar is stronger than the US dollar right now.

Yup. I saw on TV last night $100 US is about $85 Aussie.

I registered at Taobao and TaobaoTrends to learn more about the process of ordering parts directly from China. Even with translation to English, both website are still very hard to negotiate.

I guess the agent is supposed to facilitate the business transaction at TaobaoTrends? I tried entering the web address of the CDI unit in the TaobaoTrends order form, but it didn't register properly. Ordering parts directly from China seems to be a difficult process for me, and I am not easily dissuaded. Please keep us updated regarding your experience using these Chinese vendors, Pliskin.

That's good what you did. I am just wondering how come nobody has done this process before. :? How did you register with Taobao?
Because i only registered with TaobaoTrends.
In taobaotrends when you log in on the left is user menu, click on submit your orders and that's where you paste your link from taobao.
Try next day if it doesn't work first time. I'll leave few more days, and just try with ordering one item. Maybe they are too busy so they don't have time replying back.

It does indeed but would be the best option. Well no hurry will get there eventually.
