Congratulations on acquiring your new bike! Did you get the XP200, dual sport bike, or the XF200, supermoto bike? If you have time, please post photos of your new bike; we love photos!

To be honest I'd recommend the stock gearing if you plan to run it off road much and/or put a meatier rear tire on it down the road.

which oil filter does it take? im trying to research the fram 131 but its not even listed on their site and no parts dealers seem to have it.

going to call some motorcycle dealers tommorow to try to source it.

i have a CH6066 on order from advance that says it fits a dr200se but now im thinking it wont.

The one for the 200 is a little tool tall. Don't ask me how I found out.

I lied, it's a K and N 131:

Let the record show you did not lie, you merely had a brief lapse of memory, Doc.

The Hi-Flo 131 is the same filter. The # is HF131 and I order mine form the local Honda/Yamaha/Suzuki dealer.

is there anyway to drain small amounts of oil out at a time without taking the main drain plug out? i have a pump/siphon device i use for my differential in my truck, would it be able to get down far enough in the engiine?

Most motorcycle speedometers, from any manufacturer, are usually about 10 percent "optimistic." Since your speedometer is mechanically driven, you will probably need to resort to one or more of the following options to get a more accurate reading.

1. Note your speedometer reading, and mentally subtract 10 percent to get the actual speed.

2. Mark the face of your speedometer with tape to show accurate speeds.

3. Get an inexpensive, wired (not wireless), digital bicycle speedometer, and calibrate it to your front wheel size for accuracy.

4. Get a Trail Tech or Acewell computer, and calibrate it your front wheel size for accuracy.

5. Mount a GPS, and use the speedometer feature included with it.

Option #1 is the easiest, and it's the method I usually employ.

Don't mount the magnet on the spokes. Mount the magnet on the front brake rotor, or the front hub. You can get different magnets from, Wal-Mart, eBay, craft stores, et cetera. The speedometer pickup unit should be easy to move to different locations on either the fork, or the front brake caliper.

So I have been looking around for the fabled 16/44 sprocket combos however most places seem to not have the numbers in stock anymore that I have.

jetsrus no longer stocks sprocketspecialists, so I have some emails and calls into them directly to see if I can get the 550-16 front from them directly.

the rear I have some q's on. its the 44t but there are multiple item numbers I see floating around. which of these is the correct number:

JTR809.44T (jt sprockets)
64511-48001 (oem suzuki)
64511-48700 (oem suzuki)
37400-44 (bike bandit part for 96 suzuki 125)

any help is appreciated because this thing is revving way to high for my commute in. i gotta get the revs down some.

Congrats on the great purchase!

Concerning mods....I've found on my XP that the 16/44 was to tall. I dropped back to the 15/44 and it really woke it up. Come to find out, it's legs were too long. I actually GAINED top speed with the smaller front sprocket because it wasn't struggling anymore.

Also, do yourself a favor and pull the entire speedo cable assy, pull the cable out of the sheath, hose both real well with Brake Kleen, let dry, lube both with something really good and reassemble. The original lube turns to goo, I found, and hangs the cable up badly. My speedo's pretty accurate now.

Here's mine. Enjoy the ride!
