I will post some carb pics today when I get a chance. It's a CV carb and your idea may work. I hesitate because it started easily this AM and may not need to be adjusted. I also added some Seafoam to clean it out a bit more. Finally it runs so good I am not in a rush to change the carb settings, will wait and see, and ride. BTW Andrew, you bought one of the best 200cc bikes available, from any country. You and your Q will build a long and happy relationship. The more you ride that bike the more you will like it. I actually SAW a Q on the 100 mile off road section yesterday. An orange one trying to look like a KTM but it's A/C engine and modest speed (and Q decals) gave it away. I bet it's owner was smiling in his (her?) helmet.

I'm glad the bike started right up this morning, Doc. Perhaps you were a little too harsh in your initial assessment of the LXT 400? :?: Every motorcycle wants to run; they hate to sit unloved. Maybe the LXT 400 just needs a little TLC. I would enjoy hearing from the other LXT 400 owners regarding their experiences with the issues you have mentioned. Spud

More pics, including close ups of the carb:
Fork compression adjustment. Fork rebound adjustment. Note pretty adjusters. Then note no tabs to adjust them with. Strong brakes. Enricher lever. Nitrogen shock. Best part on the whole dang bike. :P NGK. Placebo fuel selector. Off and On work. Reserve is only maybe 2/10 gallon. What carb is this?? Beauty shots. 8)

I forgot to mention. I used my cable luber on the clutch cable with W&G's personal favorite lube, Chain Wax. The clutch now operates fine.

I have to say, it is a sharp looking bike! Too bad they didn't put as much effort into function as form... I have no doubt you'll get it sorted out though!

hey um 4th or 5th pic up from the bottem.. the one that has that wheel with the 2 cables going to it off the side of the carb..
is my assumption correct that controls the throttle plate in the carb when you give it gas.. and that is what the return cable thingy for twist throttles so it does not stick in the full throttle postion..

I'm about to get my freshly washed bike all dirty again. My patient with the Husaberg is on his way over. This should be fun. I will be sure to top off my gas tank, again.

I'll take some shots of my XR250R carb for comparison.

Doc,
I noticed that the bottom of the petcock is bowl shaped and has a bolt. Is there a filter or screen in there? |

Just got back from 2 hours of trail riding. This bike does OK. I think I may have comdemned it prematurely... Time will tell.
The Husaberg is nuts. Awesome bike. Like a Ferrari dirtbike.
