Glad to hear that there is no leak. A new clutch cable is cheap and easy to replace.

I agree. In your situation a new clutch cable is not expensive enough to warrant a cable repair.

Well I hope this is a quick and easy fix replacing the cable. All I really need this bike for is until I can get a truck, which should be pretty soon. I just got my permit today(yayayayay), so in 6 months I'll get my license and won't need the bike. Well, we all need a bike, who wants to miss out on the freedom of the open road?

Yeah, you need a bike! You'll just be able to cart it around in your truck.

Of course you need a bike! Have you checked the price of gasoline lately? 8O You can ride far more economically with a bike, than with a truck.

Well I lied, or my bike did rather. I leaks oil a lil' bit, not a whole bunch. After 3 days of sitting out I noticed an oil spot beneath the bike. Great. Haven't had time to go get a cable yet, but I'm going to go get one tomorrow and see what's up. Update tomorrow.

So I replaced the clutch cable, and it rode fine, no dragging of the clutch. Once I tighten the sprocket and chain tomorrow I'll take it for an afternoon ride to give it a real test

PS: The cable I bought was for a triumph, and it was just a tad shorter than the one that came off the bike. Took a bit of fiddling but it fits now. The label says:

128846-C
Triumph
+2"

Good to hear that the clutch cable has been replaced. I hope it works well for you.

Any news on the leak?

I am indeed learning a lot, motors are interesting once you look at it piece by piece. The engine as a whole seems complicated, but once you actually get in there and look at it, it's not so bad :P

No news on the leak, its dripping off of the oil filter area though, i might have not tightened it enough since I didn't want to tighten it too tight.

As with many others who preceded you, you are learning a lot from your chinabike, SS. If tightening the nut doesn't stop the oil leak, install a new O-ring at your next oil change.
