Really looking at this thing deep, it's as well built as any Yamaha etc. Nice welds, nothing chintzy at all.

Lifan has been trying to prove they CAN make a bike superior to most every other Chinese manufacturer (not including brands like Benelli who are appealing to mainstream buyers). There are a few brands we don't get, like Loncin, so I would be curious where among Chinese manufacturers Lifan sits as far as quality and reliability go. Your bike looks great with the slight custom touches, so no need to apologize. I will like a side by side comparison set of photos to see what subtle mods you made with this bike vs. the one you will be buying and keeping stock.

Glad to hear you're toes aren't sore! With that sidewinder tach, racy looking exhaust, removable tail section..it's almost as if there could be several versions or styles on one platform. Strip it for a racy look, or throw a JP catalog at it and it's a road monster. I wanted to do (other than the bars, I know) what it may have looked like if it were a factory custom.

And absolutely, with this motorcycle at $3750 delivered, Lifan has proven it can sell you a Cadillac instead of a $4500 Yamaha etc. There is nothing "Chinesey" whatsoever.

I would love to hear a side by side comparison with a Lycan and the SSR Buccaneer 250 since the Buccaneer uses the same engine and sounds great stock, at least from the videos out there featuring the Buccaneer. From the few Lycan videos, I don't think any really have caught the exhaust note.

I've looked at aftermarket pipes, but a large part of the "personality" of this thing is the factory exhaust. I'd love to have the deeper exhaust note, so maybe I'll see if a different muffler etc could be utilized while keeping the stock appearance. Many thanks for following along, I'll try not to screw it up too much!
