Front receiver for a bike rack or for pulling a boat out of the water?

Cool bikes!

The mention of the crate reminded me in 69, I got a new orange crate for my 10th birthday. In the first 6mo it got stolen 3 times. As the saying goes The 3rd time was the charm because, I never saw it again. Needless to say, I was heart broke over it but, I'm sure my parents felt it worse than, I did because those bikes were expensive.

Yep for the bike rack, no to the boat. Instead of the boat, though, it will aid in parking my pop up under my second floor deck.

cheesy, that's an excellent idea! Why back the trailer in when you can push it?

I usually don't have much of a problem backing the trailer in its spot, unless Mrs. cheesy decides to help. But pushing it in will be a heck of a lot easier.

Finished the yellow bike yesterday and rode it around the yard. I now hurt in places I forgot I had.

The future owner, my grandkid, is arriving on Saturday. The plan is say that I want her to help me with something in the garage. I'll bring a bucket of soapy water along and when she see's the bike, I'll say, "If you help me clean it, you can have it."

I should have the Monark done tomorrow. Repack the hubs, mount the new rubber and it's finished.

Jim-I drooled over the Crates but my folks couldn't swing one. In 1970, though, with my lawn mowing money and a bit of help from my folks, I bought a 1970 Robin Hood Lenton Sports 10 speed. It was $71.00 and I still have it 42 years later.

Rode it to work today.

No speed demon but oh so comfy. Need to re-edumicate myself on the proper operation of coaster brakes. Grabbing a handful of shift lever does not help one bit in stopping. Sure increases the heart rate, though.

Much like how steering inputs from the driver are largely ignored when a car is upside down.

I found a sprocket much like that in my BMX days. I couldn't afford all the fancy aluminum chain rings like the rich boys, so I got permission to raid the parts bin in my Power Technology class in high school. I think I ended up with a 48 / 16 sprocket combo, which was suitable for land speed racing.

Sweet old bike. I bet riding it was a lot of fun, despite the coaster brake education.

Is that a bike lane? Our move to Kansas will put us in a more bike friendly environment. I have a new raleigh that has not been out in a year.

Yeah, katoranger, that is the Fox River Trail. Runs from the WI state line at Genoa City and ends down around Montgomery/Oswego, IL. About 75 miles all told. The bulk of my ride to work is on it.

What Raleigh do you have?

I will have to go look. I don't remember the model. It is one of them comfort types. I got it to pull the burly trailer with.

AAANNNDDDD it worked.

Not without some little kid drama, though. She got so excited when I said she could have it, she peed herself. A bit more of a reaction than I expected. 8O

She spent the better part of the day riding circles on our deck after a change of clothes.

Mirrors. You can see better going backwards (the corners).

Looks like you found a good home for that bike.

That's a cute story. Your granddaughter is beautiful! Thank you for posting the sweet photograph. Guess who just became the world's best grandpa! :P
