Check the radiator hoses. Fishman had one fall apart. Again. Where are the pics.

I may be DUMBER than you are.

The clutch plates must have been stuck. They fixed themselves and Daddy changed the oil and had been riding it since without problems.

XY Canada has a complete clutch, basket bushings seals bearings and all for less than $200 if it comes to that...
Ahh! Good to hear it resolved itself . As far as the dumber part, I would just say more adventurous... A noble trait in a dual sport rider! Wishing you a fantastic and trouble free ride! Please take lots of pics for us, you know how we all like pics

Cheers,
Stew

Aha; the cat is out of the bag! I'm glad the Dirt Rat went to a nice home, Doc. Good luck on the DS ride, and please take lots of photographs!

I wondered if it might be Daddy's bike, given your relative proximity. Too bad that he wasn't able to enjoy it like he had hoped.

Let me know if you need parts from Canada. Saga has a ton of stuff in the warehouse, and I'd be happy to pick stuff up.

I'm on the road sending msg from cell phone pics will have to wait. I rolled the dice and tool my chances. Not a quality machine. Chain guides fell off in first few miles. Hard to start cold. Clutch problem is warped plates. Neutral light has some sort of partial short. Stays slightly dim when in gear. Does not go out. Super hard seat. Made of bamboo? Stiction in front forks significant. Plastic poor quality and brittle. Throttle sloppy. Fuel line made of fortune cookie dough. Geared silly low. Needs 1-2 more teeth on countershaft sprocket. I hope it makes the 100 mile off road ride and 75 mile ride home tomorrow. Major buyers remorse. Imagine a Lifanoid with twice the power and about the same weight. My 250 KLX would leave this behind like a horse stuck in the mud. You get what you pay for guys.

Ack. On the bright side I helped Daddy 469 out. Time will tell.... to get to battery you have to8 remove tool kit, rack, seat, and side panel. Poor engineering. Why can't they copy everything from the Japanese? Bike is on battery tendy overnight. Brought starter fluid. Will need clutch but I don't want another XY POS unit. Mabye XR clutch would work but I don't want to put money into bike.

On the bright side as long as I'm fixing this I'm an official Chinarider still. Or china bus-taker.

I'm sorry to hear of your difficulties, Brother Bill. :( I just said a prayer for your safe completion of the DS ride, and your safe return home. I'm glad you have Brother Roger with you.

that sucks doc, it really does look like a nice bike.

maybe you will come across a good deal on a name brand motor and swap it in. could maybe pull off that swap for the same amount you would loose by selling it as it is...find a wrecked 450r quad and use that motor or try and find a motorcycle motor..

This bike is getting to be like the ring from Lord of the Rings. Even after all the bad reports, I still want the "precious." I don't know why I'm such a sucker for hard luck cases.

I'm guessing Doc would give you a good deal on it

This bike is currently sold by Xingyue Canada, and will soon be sold by Saga Canada. Therefore, one shouldn't have any problems getting this bike licensed for the street in Canada.
