On a side note, eerily, the Qlink website is still up; here are the two bikes that used the DR200 clone engine...

Thanks for posting the video. It sounds pretty nice! Any noticable difference in power? I love JP Motorsports for supporting the XF bikes since back when I owned a Qlink 200. Spend some time in San Diego and you will likely see a Qlink or SSR on the road thanks to those guys.

Yes, very bizarre. I emailed them to find out if they sold parts and never received anything back. It would be nice if they either dumped the site or rebooted the company.

Very cool. Yes looking at a TU250 and the XF250 pics, it's clear it's a TU250 motor. Who makes the motor? Lifan?

Charles.

I was also told that not only did they build the motors for Suzuki but also, all the small displacement Kawasaki's and KTM's. Not sure how much of that is rumor or true.

Very cool. I wonder how this bike compares to a CG250-engined bike, like the CSC TT250. The CSC is quite a bit cheaper, and lighter. But with skinny tires and less horsepower. Any insight on whether the added price is worth it for the XF250 over the CSC offering?

Charles.

DH - I haven't ridden it that much to be sure since i put it on. Damn weather hasn't been cooperating and my house remodel stuff is neverending. I've been itching to ride and put some miles on my bikes this year! I want to see if feels more snappy, but it definitely sounds loads better than the shitty amazon one. I might have to do some carb jetting changes/adjustments again. i haven't taken it on the highway since i rejetted it to see if it really will do 70 mph easy enough. I probably need to switch out the cluster - the tach is super sluggish and I don't think it reads correctly. Anyone have any recommendations for an accurate/reliable unit?

Also, the bike is really coldblooded - it has to be choked for quite awhile before it won't die after when you turn the choke off. Any idea what causes that?

These bike come tuned very lean from the factory to get by the EPA. Changing out the pilot jet to a large jet and adjusting the idle mixture. Sometimes you can get away with just adjusting the idle mixture. You will probably have the so called tamper proof screws on the bowl and a plug covering the idle mixture screw but both can easily be accessible by slotting the screws with a hack saw or Dremel tool and drilling out the plug covering the idle mixture screw.

Pilot jet is too lean. Any kind of intake or exhaust mod is going to need some carb jetting, they come VERY lean from the factory. Taking a long time before being able to take the bike off of choke is a sure sign of a too-lean pilot jet. You're probably lean across the board, one size up main jet might give you a bit of a performance boost as well.

Charles.

I've already rejetted the carb and did the basic mods on the carb - i got the carb kit from Sigma, but i can't remember which jets I used right off the top of my head. One of the other guys told me, i'll have to go back and read i think. I also pulled off all the emissions shit, along with the air injection. I thought i had it adjusted decently. I think it just came with the one pilot jet, but i have a couple different main jets.

I have both the CSC TT250 and my Qlink 200 in my garage. The Qlink is simply a better bike, regarding build quality. Really nice welds, beefy aluminum swing arm, alloy wheels. I really love the bike and it will never be on the chopping block. Though the suspension seems similar, the Qlink rides far nicer on our lousy roads. It eats up the bumps better. No harshness. You can really feel the difference in how solid the bike feels under you. It feels more substantial. It's why I always say it's "virtually Japanese". The OHC 200cc Suzuki motor will beat the pants off the CG 230cc motor.....though the CG motor does have some respectable mid-range and will last basically forever. The CG does do better on gas consumption but neither are bad.

All this said, I haven't ridden the SSR XF250....but it's newer, bigger, so I'm assuming it's better.

Something's not right.....though I dont have any real experience with that particular brand of carb. Defnitely too lean. How's the plug look???

I'd have to pull it and look at it. The adjustment screw on the carb, that's for the main jet isn't it? I hate it when i don't mess with it for awhile and i brain dump everything. haha
