What's the length and diameter of the spokes? Aliexpress has a decent price on stainless steel spokes and would probably get them quicker.

Thanks.
I measured the spoke length at 17 cm and ordered some from Tasharina Corp. Should be here next Wednesday or so. Comes in a set of 72.

I really need to order some myself. I know I'm pushing the stock ones. Knock on wood I haven't broken one spoke yet. I have over 6900 miles on my Hawk now. I do check them regularly. Usually every other ride. I find a couple of loose ones every now and then.

Yes you were lucky. Is the angle wrong?

Don't know if the angle is wrong.
I took out one of the unbroken spokes and a crack is starting to form at the bend. It is hard to see in the photos but it is there. Just a matter of time before that spoke will break.

Typical Crappy Chinese metal. Put some good spokes on it and call it good.

You have a good point there. With the low mileage and type of riding you are doing you shouldn't have spoke failure already.

New DF250RTG owner

I got my DF250RTG about a week ago, and I really like the bike. However I am having stalling issues. I just started a thread in the street section with more details, I would be super appreciative if anyone can help me out because I really want to get back on the road ASAP because I have been having such a good time with this little bike! Thanks in advance

I would argue that Chinese bikes are fine as first bikes, thanks to YouTube and this forum. You will learn how to maintain them, adjust what needs to be adjusted, and repair them. Most members have dual-sports and a comparative dual-sport to the rtg in price is the Taotao TBR7. Member Motocheez has an extensive number of videos on several Chinabikes on YouTube. He had dozens on the Hawk 250, but more recently has newer videos on the TBR7, the Brozz 250, and more recently, the Hawk DLX 250 (fuel-injected--no carb to mess with). The Lifan X-Pect 200 is also arguably a best buy among Chinabikes if you have a dealer nearby as they are trying to emulate a name brand bike with their own network of dealers. Not to mention they have arguably the best quality bikes among the motorcycles from China. And the X-Pect is also fuel-injected giving you one less thing to have to adjust.

The thing about them is that you will get to learn about motorcycles mechanically, and realize that they are far easier to work on than you might have thought.

That being said--a used Japanese bike will be theoretically higher quality AND less worry if you really don't want to get your hands dirty, but they are unknown, and you can get someone's problems if you don't know what to look for.

Is the choke on? Down is off. I have not touched the carb in any way as the bike runs just fine.

It turns out that my issue was with the idle mixture screw adjustment. The carb was running rich. Per JerryHawk's suggestion, I drilled out the screw cap on the bottom of the carb and adjusted it to 1 and 1/2 turns out. Runs great now!

Got the spokes today and replaced the five broken one. I going to take it to a local shop and have him true the wheel. Never had to fool with that in over 60 years of motorcycle ownership so don't wanna learn it now. If the wheel stays together I will keep the bike. Kinda leary of shipping a bike to Canada that is not legal in Canada. I can see the bike being in limbo at the US/Canada border.

I actually want to keep the bike as it is a good bike to ride.

Not impressed with Belmonte's ability to supply parts. They seem to have order all the parts from China. I found the spokes on Walmart of all places. They had them listed so I ordered them through Walmart.

I ordered a CT70 clone from that guy in New Orleans. I sold my RE rig so with the DF down I was bike less. I left my TU250X in Fl so I would have a bike to ride there if I had to go to FL which I did.
I gotta ride about every day.
