So I asume this is a full flow system ?...
wondering if 10mm banjo fittings could be a bit on the
restrictive side for full flow...

The most important features to me are two. One, the oil take-off is right in the higher pressure and flow of the lubrication system, and two, the lines and radiator add at least a half a quart of oil to the system, if you add a check valve in the line to the oil cooler. If you don't put a check valve in the pressure line, it will drain back into the crankcase at shutoff. Which means you will have to figure out where full really is. In other words, without a check valve, and with the oil to the normal line in the window, once the engine starts, there will only be a half a quart in the crank case. Adding a half a quart of oil would be a 50% addition of oil to the system. Cooler oil is a good deal in these engines.

Yes, depending on how you mount the cooler you may or may not need a check value. If mounted with the cooler inlet and outlet facing up the cooler should hold the oil. If mounted with inlet and outlet on the side it will need a check valve. I was planning on putting one no matter how I mount it.

I too would use a check valve, because I wouldn't want the layout of the oil inlet and outlet dictating where and what orientation that oil cooler would go.....ARH

inlet into the top of the cooler , out let at the bottom..
and the inlet line will be the only part that can drain , not the cooler
as well.

Funny, I heard that same thing from the shop mechanic when I complained of a KH Harley-Davidson wet sumping.

I like the stack plate cooler. Are these ready to ship or did you just get the prototype? Shouldn't there be a rubber seal on the end of that adapter? I'm so......
