white wire = hot(power)

The white wire is the hot wire, power wire? Not the red one? I know the black one is the ground,! right?

New Bike Here

My wife just got me a 200CC Dragon Chopper. So far I love it! I've done so rewiring and light work. But it is Titled and Plated and completely street legal now.

Time to get creative...

Where can I find some more HP and Speed? I'm looking at carb and sprocket to start.

By the way does any body know what the porpose of the valves on the exhaust is. I fabed some block off plates and got rid of those things.

It's the SAI (secondary air injection). Theres a comprehensive explanation of that device on this thread:

http://www.chinariders.net/modules.p...&highlight=sai

Amazing looking machine by the way. If you're getting rid of the SAI you might as well change the exhaust to start with. This will contain the catalyser element that is part of that emissions system. Without the air injection gear it doesn't do anything apart from bunging up the exhaust and robbing power.

Hi Thanks I love it!

What do I replace the exhaust with? Better question is how do I do away with the post that are left behind arter removing the SAI? Do they make exhaust for it?

I meant the muffler where the catalyser insert is hidden, there's bound to be something suitable for that size pipe. Unless some aftermarket people come up with alternative downpipes you're stuck with those little pipes coming out of the main downpipes.

The heck I am... I've got a mig welder and a license to destroy. I'll just cut those little things off weld her shut grind the weld and have them recoated. HA HA HA. Victory Is Mine!!!!

Muffler?!?! Yeah when I find that I want to see how the heck a piece of pipe can be called a muffler. Sounds like it could just as easily go straight pipe.

We'll After some thought I'm going for a rejet, CDI, and some exhaust work. I've also found a place or three to find some more parts replacement and performance.

Let me know how the CDI works for you.
A rejet (108)and sprocket change is about all that can be done.
As you already know they are strait pipes.
Now if one could put in a higher compression piston
and a more aggressive cam.....topped with a port and polish.
I shudder to think about it

WHY BUY

First off I'm new to this board but I know how it goes cause I belong to a couple other boards.
Now ever since I've seen the 3/4 Chopper I've wanted one. But until recently I was unable to findd any reviews to know the quality of the product. Well now I've found this board and I must say so far this bike is not what I hoped it would be. I was wanting to get it for commuting to work (about 40 miles). I can pad the seat enough to not concern myself with that. My concern is, after reading over half of the post on this blogg, is it even fit to be used as an everyday commuter for 40 miles without breaking down every 2-3 days.
I also read in this blogg about rumor of a 400cc coming out. Is this true? Will it look the same? Will it be more reliable for commuting?
Someone please help pesuade me.

HMMMMM

As much as I'd love to tell you buy one hop on and get cruising. 40 Miles is a long ride especially on a hard tail. If you pick up a 5 speed it's capable of 80+ MPH but I wouldn't recommend it. Think of this bike as a lake or village cruiser. It looks awesome, gets lots of attention, but requires your cycle knowledge. I have hours in mine so far modifying exhaust and jetting chain mods idler bearings not to mention the fabrication of idler adjusting bolts and stops.

Which reminds me. The dragon is SAI Free and jetted to a 115. Chains are 1 link short on the rear and stock length on the front. (I had lots of adjustable area already lost so we installed chains - 1 link for the rear. Sprockets are ordered.(larger rear sprocket smaller front engine to idler will be equal) The speed-o is getting replaced with an all in one speedo with indicators. Plug wire is replaced with an Accel 10mm wire. Currently fabricating adjuster/stops for the center idler. Turn signal beeper was removed cause it was just annoying. Tiny little ground wire was replaced with some good heavy lawn tractor battery cables. I can officially ride this now without having my harness roast and soon with out the chain flopping off. More pics when I'm done. As well as step by step on the Idler Mod.

Had I known how much work and expense this was going to be
I wouldn't have done it....However I am a "tinkerer"and I am pleased
with the result of my hard work and money.
But you may get lucky and get a good one that will last a little longer.
40 mi. is a long ride on one of these things but to save fuel expense
I would do it.All tolled Iv spent about 4000.00. I could have spent
that money on a "real" moto......but it wouldn't look near as cool!!!!
And learning all about choppers and pushing my limits of creativity
and knowledge is fun.
Sooooooo....if you have tools and are willing to spend some money,
you will enjoy the joy and the pain that the Dragon Chopper brings!!
A little advice.....Check it out theraly before operation.Take it for
a ride......on side streets.Ride it a lot to get the "bugs" out.
You might wont to do many of the mods before even riding.

Yup

I'm right there forklift. This thing is a blast to ride but you have to be willing to put some time, thought, and a pound of flesh into it. So far I've got the Tangerine Dream running like a saw. The jetting helped a lot so did the exhaust work. The wiring just allows a better flow of power and a good strong spark. I've got a coil I'm looking at ordering just to up the ignition system a little more.

The chopper was 2000.Iv spent about 2000. more.
But I added a lot of custom goodies and custom paint.
I haven't heard of a 400cc likened after the 200cc.
The cost of some "street legal" lights 100.00 on the cheep side.
250.00 for lights that look cool.About 70.00 or so for tank liner
A rear tire about 50-150.00.Front tire about 75.
You could get a way with a cheep bicycle cyclometer for a speedo.
But the one I got ran me about 170.It wires up to the head light
so it has a back light and can give an RPM reading. Some new
chains about 15.00 each.About 100.00 for this and that's....
