Pic of said Beetle

Nice beetle and looks to be a pretty solid car to start fixing up. Many years ago I bought a bug for $50 and totally restored it. I spent the whole week of vacation cutting out rust and welding new panels on. I did all of the restoration work myself and it was a blast although I almost lost my marriage over it (not really but she wasn't happy) as I spent all my spare time in the garage working on the car, took me a whole year to finish. Anyway I am envious and would love to see progress pics!

We bought children's motrin, and filled a prescription for some heavy duty cough syrup. The mutant has come down with something, and seriously went from being an unbelievably happy 2 year old to a very sick little kid between one breath and the next. He would have a cough or two that were obviously causing him a lot of pain, and would burst in to tears as soon as he could breathe again. Our poor little guy. He's down for the night, but I hate having to dose him up with all the medicine.

Those are always rough times, especially with the first one. Hope the mutant feels better soon.

Emerikol - our two boys were sick all the time when we lived on the east coast. We quit our jobs and moved to AZ while both were still in diapers. The kids had a lot fewer ear infections and coughs in AZ, with the dry climate. That was in the early 1990s. The doctors should be able to find some effective treatments for your little one. You shouldn't need to move to another climate like we did.
Dont be afraid to change pediatricians if they are not making progress.

Thanks to everyone for the well wishes. The mutant (yes, we really call him that. He's named for two mutants in the Marvel Universe. Wolverine and Deadpool.) is feeling much better today. Still really tired/groggy from the cough medicine, but it's definitely breaking up all the gunk in his lungs. He's still not talking much, and he sounds kind of like Donald Duck when he does, but there's marked improvement. So I just want to say thanks again to everyone.

Nebulizer filled with a few ml's worth of 10ppm Colloidal Silver solution inhaled 2 to 3 times a day will help a lot... sorry I'm late to post... been extremely busy of late

Hope the kiddo gets better soon... PM me if you need help getting some Silver, I can easily make up a batch and ship it to you if you have trouble sourcing a pure Colloidal Silver Solution from a local store

Since i only had $500 into the trailer and i had originally offered $500 for the rolling shell i broke even there. I will eventually pick up a newer 16-18 ft car trailer later on down the line. But for now i will probably integrate tow bar mounts into the new bumpers on both my K5 and Jeep YJ as those were the vehicles most likely to end up on the trailer anyway.

As for the plans for the car itself. More or less a bit of rat rod mixed in with Class 11 Baja bug and a bit of madmax to tie it all together. Ergo from the b pillar back it will be more like a Class 11 in terms of stock body. The side rails and front fenders will be more like a full on baja and that is where the mad max elements come in as well. The rat rod well that will be the general external appearance.

I had a 67 VW that was given to me that I installed the Baja kit on. I installed 94mm big bore kit, Dual Weber carbs, 3/4 street grind cam, Dual Port heads and porche clutch to handle the power. It would pull wheelies with ease. I scared the crap out of my cousin the first time he road with me. Had him looking at the sky. Didn't take him long to bail out. Only problem I had was I kept blowing 1st gear. A buddy of mine had swapped a 5 speed porche tranny into his which held up well. Back then racing transmission components weren't available. I have pics somewhere and will post.

Def looking forward to seeing pics. Ideally i would like to get my hands on a "Bug Eye" Baja kit and just install the front half of it while keeping the rear half of the body stock. Trim the fenders a bit to clear bigger tires but that is about it.

I thought there’d at least be a band and balloons. All we walked out of BOA with was a receipt for the check.

Interesting you speak of colloidal silver...!!!! When I was in the burn unit, the drs were using this on me, I wonder if they were applying it with a spatula?

Great stuff, we use it all the time!!!!! Thanks for the post!
