After reading about the trouble finding intake boots for this carb and the Nibby, and hearing about the difficulty of tuning Dan's carb I think I'm just gonna get the Mikuni clone being that they're easy to tune. My stock carb is still running lean with drilling it to 45mm and the 110 main. And rather than buy a 112 main for $12 I'd rather put that towards the clone and just start over.

I haven't had a whole lot of trouble tuning the Pumper. Honestly, if you got one that had normal Keihin style pilot jets instead of the goofy one, it wouldn't be any harder to dial in than the Mikuni. It's all of the other added stuff for the pumper system that has given me the most work to do.

I have a good feeling about this CQR intake. Unlike the others it is more bike specific, and the bike in question has the same basic carb positioning as the Hawk. The only downside is having to go through the slow ordering and shipment process of Taobao. If it does fit and work out well I am thinking about ordering a bunch of them (maybe 10) for guys on here and just selling them to recover my costs plus shipping, which would probably make them about 10 bucks or so each.

Another option also meant for the cqr is a manifold built by Nibbi themselves. It's a bit over 20 bucks with shipping though, and will require a gasket to the head I believe. https://www.amazon.com/NIBBI-Replace.../dp/B06WRPRQSF

Maybe my kit is a better option for you - has a #112 in it and I can soon add in more pilot jets.

Then also you are well set to do a PZ30B pumper carb cause parts cross over to that too.

Just stumbled across this. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07KR27M2N...detail_2?psc=1

Looks to adapt our stock intake to a boot style.

The only potential issue with this setup would be moving the carburetor a little further back, but I don't thjink that would be too much of an issue.

It looks to also replace the studs int he intake with bolts.

If I had one complaint it would be that it is sized at a 28mm bore size... why not 30? Especially considering they mention a 30mm carb lol. Nothing a little port work couldn't fix.

I had looked at something similar to that one but same issue. 28mm bore. I think the CQR250 manifold you ordered is going to work.

I can confirm that both intakes;

This one: https://item.taobao.com/item.htm?spm...ucket=2#detail

And this one: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07PCN9MQW...iglink28144-20

Will absolutely work on a Hawk. They angle the carb to the right side of the bike.

I am thinking that I will most likely use the Nibbi intake, but I will test fit both and take pictures tomorrow. If anybody is interested in the other intake (depending on which one I choose) I will gladly pass it on for a reasonable price.

The Nibbi intake is a really nice piece, I must say. It comes with a choice of a paper gasket or an O-ring. The O ring is a rather thin one, but it should work ok.

The rubber CQR intake is a little rough around the edges on the inside, but could be smoothed out super easily. A good word to describe it is "chunky" with nice thick rubber.

Ok, so my excuse is that I don't have the time, but I am also waiting on a few jets to arrive. I plan on starting by borrowing your jetting Jerry, which is a 39 pilot and 120 main. Just in case I need to adjust from there I have some pilot jets on the way.

In the mean time, I whipped out my Hawk head and the two intakes to demonstrate how the intakes position the carb.

First up. Here are the two intakes in question. The Nibbi is a bit shorter than the more standard CQR intake. The CQR intake socket where the carb mounts is actually a bit loose with the 35mm end, but not too loose. I do believe it could be used with a 38-40mm carb end though, so it could be used on a 32-34mm carb potentially.

This is the CQR intake. Good angle for clearing the frame I would say.

My only real concern is the length. I am sure it will clear just fine, but it does move the carburetor away from the motor a decent amount. I will report back on that when I get around to installing it.

Nibbi intake

This is the Nibbi intake for the CQR. Very nice piece I must say.

You can see that it doesn't angle the carb out quite as much, and it is a little shorter.

This is the thin O-ring I mentioned, and you can see the paper gasket off to the side that you can also use in the O rings place.

The inside is nicely matched to the 30mm PWK carburetor.

The Nibbi intake looks like the best option. I'm running a 39 pilot and 125 main right now.

Happen to remember how many turns out on the air screw you are? I am curious to compare the jetting we end up with.

it's right at 1 1/2 turns out. May be 1/8 turn in from there.
