Changing Oil on my 150cc BMS

I have a question there are a total of three bolts on the underside of my BMS. Which is for the oil, and what are there other two for:

Here is a larger area showing all three bolts:



Here is a closer one of Blue and Red ones from above:




And a Closer look at the Yellow one (this one is directly below the oil fill/check area):

That's interesting. There are a few members around with the 150cc motors and I'll pass on giving you the straight answer so they can weigh in.. but I'd GUESS at the middle one being oil drain. :P Think you circled it in red.

I'd happily be wrong though. :P

I'm thinking it's yellow, although all 3 may work. The reason I say yellow is that it looks like a lifanoid oil screen/drain plug.

I'm with Doc. The yellow one is likely a filter, and it should be cleaned each time.

drain plug

YES it is the YELLOW ONE.. thereis the screen in there... and it is best to check & clean it.. it will also let you know what is going on inside... eg.. any pieces or such

I tried to remove it bu tthe exhaust is in the way, I am assuming I have to remove the exhaust every time I want to change the oil?

If you have access to a welder, you could remove the catalytic converter (the large lump in the pipe). That would make subsequent oil changes much easier.

Each time you remove the exhaust, you compromise the gasket.

Only 1/2 qt came out of the yellow circled bolt (yes there was a spring and filter). The book says it holds 2.8 qts? Should I try another bolt?

Is there anything other than oil in the engine, like transmission fluid, etc?

I'm guessing that was all the oil in your engine. I'm surprised by the 2.8 quarts figure; mine only hold about one quart. Use the dipstick as your guide, but be sure to not screw it in when you're taking a reading, just place it in the hole.

Does the dipstick show any oil on it now? I doubt it.

There is no other oil in the engine, and you're not required to use motorcycle oil in it because it does not have a wet clutch. I use 10W30 synthetic.

There is gear oil in the gearbox. You'll find that on the left side at the rear. There will be an upper fill plug and a lower drain plug; I use Castrol Syntec 75W90 in mine.

Just to be clear, the engine spins a centrifugal clutch via a belt that is behind the left side cover. That belt eventually spins the gearbox.

I only have 1/2 qt in there and the dip stick is showing almost exactly half way between the full and add markers.

I put in 10W40 ATV oil.

If that's with the dipstick just resting on the hole, then that sounds correct.

I agree. A 200 has a 1 qt capacitiy so this makes sense.
