Sounds about right! You are going to need a sprocket, good luck. I have to go to work, have a good day.

OK, the search is on. I have a 32t 520. I guess 5 or 6 teeth more would be good. I don't want to kill the low end where I have to burn out the clutch to take off and have to push it up steep hills.

You dont want more teeth in the rear. You want less to drop RPMs.

What is the red line on your bike? 4500@45mph does not sound terrible to me.

Fewer teeth on the rear sprocket is what you are looking for. And/or more on the front. A practical limitation on the reduction of rear sprocket teeth is swingarm interference so keep an eye out for that too.

I'm not sure of the red line. I added the tach myself. The manual says the max output is 8500 rpm +/- 10%. Maybe its not that bad after all. I'm still in break in mode but I did take it up to 5500 today and and it felt like it hit a power band or something. Yeah, I'm looking @ the manual and it says that the max torque is @ 5000 +/- 10%.

If I was going to do it again I would not go smaller than a 27 tooth. These guys should be able to help you find one, but I never could. Be sure to look at increasing the front sprocket, but it would be tight. One tooth there is quite an improvement and it wont require a chain shortening.
