Attention DS'ers in the Southeast

Here is a chance to ride some really sweet trail, trail only open to this event, except for a 5 mile section! These trails are all on private land, scenic gentle hills in the Carolina Upstate, just outside of Chester SC.

The ride will be held May 6th, this ride benefits the Armenia United Methodist Church, and is presented by my club, the Family Riders.

Trail so sweet, when riders have arrived at a woods stop and found a landowner checking things out, they have been known to HUG the landowner!

1 section of the trail is more aggressive and used than the rest, and "go-arounds" are in place to avoid the worst parts. To be honest, the go-arounds have never been used, and all bikes have made it through. But it will get your attention!

There will be 3 routes available to ride, the full DS route, the Adventure Bike route, and the Ladies route.

Free camping is available for those who want to show up Saturday, and movies on the big screen in the Garage Majal Saturday night. Breakfast will be available for purchase Sunday morning. and lunch Sunday is included for ride participants. Watch out for the church ladies baked goods desserts at the lunch stop! Good Stuff!

Here is a link to a .doc file for the event flyer

Hey OB1,
That sounds like fun. I will mention it to Dad and see if he wants to ride up and go for a trail ride.

Thanks for the heads up!!!

Jason

If I was closer I'd do it in a heartbeat. Google tells me its 21 hours away

Great cause and sounds like a great ride.

OB1,
Upon reading the form.....USFS APPROVED spark arrestor. Sound check 92dba@20”. Leave the stock baffles in those converted XR’S, CRF’S,TTR’S, WR’S EXC’S. Sound is the enemy of the off road enthusiasts and we don’t plan to make any new enemies.

I'm quite sure neither of ours meet this requirement since Dad has his drilled out front to back through all the baffles with a 5/8" bit. AND mine....well to be sure it would never meet any dba requirement since I removed the baffles all together.

Glad I read it,
Jason

Sound is something we are fairly stringent on. Now, a point or 2, ehhh, but lets just say I have never made the ride on my bike, it registers 102db at about 3Krpm.

Fatboy, you might ask around and see if someone you know has a sound meter. If you find one, let me know, I will give you the test procedure. Make an effort now, lets find out what you have, and I'll see if I can pull a few strings. I'm on the club board...

I know my XR/Lifan 200 passes, and it has a very open exhaust {a Cobra ISDE}. My bet is you arent as load as you think.

As far as an SA, open up your can and stuff some screen in there.

Sounds like a great ride but the timing couldn't be worse for me. I've got about 20,000 people coming over for breakfast the day before as that will be the day of the KY Derby!
