tappety noise

hi ya im new to this forum thought id introduce myself im 24 and love bikes not always my shineray xy125gye which at the moment since i have done some modifications to it like a new main jet and a k and n style air filter and a posh race cdi i have acquired a tappety sound i thought it was from the air filter but not sure anybody have any ideas what it could be any help much appreciated thanks

have you tried using high octane fuel? (93) is it a pinging or a clicking...? cause it could be detonation (bad) or the valve system which if im not mistaken the clicking would be normal

yeah it sounds more like a clicking noise bit like car tappets

then i think its just valve noises

possibly caused by the change in timing caused by the cdi i have changed does that seem likely
