I've been complaining to Mrs. 2LZ lately that I'm running out of tool storage. I've been buying new tools along the way (the Corvair project hasn't helped), and my current box is bursting at the seams.

I've been eyeing this box at HFT but it hasn't been a major priority. Then.....then.....I received a NO EXCLUSIONS 25% off "Store Manager Coupon" in my email about four days ago. I ignored it.....but didn't delete it.

Two days later, they sent a reminder. Then another reminder that it's only good through 4/25. Dammit.....

So yesterday, Mrs. 2LZ and I made the long trek out of the hills to HFT (after calling to verify they had one). I couldn't pass it up!!! Ended up picking it up for 262.49....and they loaded it up in the truck for us! Time to rearrange the shop today.

You can never have too many tool boxes.(says the guy who sold his box and tools in SC so he wouldn't have to haul them back to Illannoy and find a place for it among his 5 other boxes.)

Not your fault. You were forced to buy it.

Cat steps. One of three is not so good at jumping any more. Delivery tomorrow.

Yeah I know I could have come up with something cheaper for sure, but it would look half-fast.

12pk of Sam Adams. Bonus to carrying my skateboard is using it as a cargo shelf. All the cargo space I really need!

Blackburn Designs Bicycle lights.
https://www.blackburndesign.com/p/cl...100000035.html

It's actually the front/rear set that I got, which has been discontinued. Which explains why I got it for $10 from Sierra Trading, my favorite low buck outdoors store. More to be seen than to see.

And, somewhere, somehow, rear lights have become a requirement on group rides within the bicycle club. I dunno, seems a bit too organized to me.

Nice light. It's good to see Blackburn still thriving after all of these years.

I do miss Eclipse. They made the best small to moderate sized panniers in various sizes, period. Excellent zippers, Scotchlight strips, excellent internal structural plastic, some had zippered side pouches, others had really useful mesh/velcro side pouches, and they had durable and functional spring hardware for attachment to racks. AND...

...they were 100% compatible with Blackburn racks. They even came with perfect little add-on flat metal hooks to place on the lower mount of the rack at the rear braze-on mount. They were sooo excellent.

I still have a couple of Blackburns early products from the eighties. The Flikstand that’s mounted to the down tube. The bent metal rod was moved tight against the tire when parking the bike so the fork wouldn’t turn when leaning the bike against a post. My skinny tired bikes without fenders have one. I also have the Parking Brake, that tied to the front brake cable with a string. You stuck it in the brake lever when parking the bike. Did the same thing as a Flikstand. There are
front and rear racks on various bikes in the stable.

I didn’t, but our SIL traded in his 2020 Dodge 2500 for a 2022 Jeep Gladiator Mojave. The Dodge was on its second 6.4 engine and that one was starting to have the dreaded lifter noise at startup the last engine

We’ll see how this goes with him. He gets distracted by new and shiny.

I bought a Kensington Hi-Fi USB Headset with a mic. I love the sound, and it's surprisingly affordable.
