Howdy y'all! I'm a new inductee of the china riders club after picking up this beast on FB marketplace. It runs, albeit with very heavy choke.
It's been ~15 years since I've owned or toyed with a motorcycle, but I did get the oil changed. I'm hoping for some advice on parts/process if anyone can help. The bike has fwd/reverse + an axel to the back wheels. I've been using it to haul hay, soil, trash, etc around our property and have absolutely loved it. I'd like spend a bit of money fixing it up so it's roadworthy, but not sure where to start. New carb? New tires? (I read a few previous threads and think this may be a pain) How do I service the transfer/rear-wheel drive setup? I assume it needs transmission fluid or something similar? Apologies for the newbie questions, and thanks for the help!! |

Pretty neat! Funny as prolific as those things are all over the world you about never see them in the states.
The issue indicates the carburetor just needs a good cleaning as the internals are gummy. VERY common on rarely used machines and/or ones that have been sitting. Looks like the tires would be changed like car tires instead of motorcycle ones. Any local tire shop should be able to handle them. If you take the wheels off and carry them to the shop. No clue on the rear drive. Maybe someone else will know. |

Nice find! What an excellent low cost workhorse
What size is written on the sidewall? These trikes are in use around the world so there must be a size available. Ditto on the carb. The main jet or the needle valve probably has a bit of crust grown on it from drying up periodically. Floats too. Depending on your altitude, you may get some better behavior with minor jetting changes once it is clean and tested. That sure looks like a standard CG230 clone on the front and top end, and an interesting driveshaft conversion where the sprocket would be. Can you find a model number on the crankcase facing left in front of/under that output shaft? Maybe something like 167FM ? This series is designed from the Honda CG125 engines. Extremely dependable pushrod valve train. If it's running well now, just keep good oil in it and keep the valves adjusted. It will probably last and last that way!

Those on the rear are trailer tires. Try these:
https://www.easternmarine.com/loadst...iler-tire-lr-c Also check the bolt pattern and offset on the wheels. You might get lucky and be able to buy a mounted tire for what the tire shop would charge you to mount tires.

https://www.alibaba.com/countrysearc...cle-trike.html
https://www.alibaba.com/product-deta...bf7264bafS9p8B https://www.made-in-china.com/multi-...Catalog/1.html Ask the previous owner where he got it. Maybe there is an importer in the US, and you can get parts for it. I notice that the available trailer tires do not have that "offroad" tread that you would want for this.
