Is it okay to hate you just a little bit? At least until it's Louisiana swamp weather?

Go ahead and hate me if it makes you feel better. Don't worry, I'll be the one complaining in July and August when its 95+ and 100% humidity in the swamp.

High 60s today, and clear. A perfect day for my first ride since fall.

Which is why I had a dead battery.

My youngest sister is in Pineville, and goes into full cranky old broad mode in the summer months. She's counting down to the day her other half finally retires from the USFS. Once that happens, she's loading her horse, Desi*, into her trailer that'll be hooked to her Dodge Ram, and hi tailing it back to Wyoming.

*She got Desi as a colt. Desi turned 30 last year.

Been reading about the SoCal snowstorm in the news. Just like the TX snowstorm a couple of years ago, lots of people unprepared. Way too many people, every single year, don't have the good sense to learn from other people's mistakes during natural disasters. And some don't even learn from their own past mistakes.

Everyone should have a month's worth of food, medicine, toiletries, alternate means of warmth, cooking and lighting, and things to keep them busy such as games or books. A way to charge cell phones via batteries or solar. Solar/battery/hand-crank radio. A lot of misery can be avoided pretty easily. Remember the Great Toilet Paper Panic of 2020? Precious few people learned about stocking up on things from that flustercuck. Preps could all be a done deal in one day of shopping.

BTW if you have to heat up food or need to warm a small space, using an alcohol or spirit burner, Everclear is a completely safe indoor fuel, even without ventilation. AFAIK everything else needs at least a little ventilation.

This has officially reached the point of BS. Snow for weeks, now the "atmospheric river" from Hawaii. I NEED SOME SUN!!!! At least days and days of solid rain has melted the snow.

Another rain filled day and night in AZ. More rain than we get in the Midwest.

"Atmospheric River". No worries. CA just tossed more needless money at why it's happening. It will all be behind you soon, with the exception of the new state board we'll continuously need to pay for after it's over. ;-)

I thought this was a thing of the past, but no, Mother Nature is screwing with me with another debilitating late winter/early spring sinus infection. I thought that it was spring allergies at first. Until Wednesday, that's when I knew what it was and what it wasn't. At least I was able to get a round of antibiotics early this time around. Yesterday, I couldn't even swallow a sip of coffee. The horrors. Today, the antibiotics are fighting back. I managed to get a cuppa down and am considering a second one. I'll be glad when the copious amounts of neon yellow snot are gone.

I thought Da Winter Blahs were easing up, but this thing has knocked me back into reality.
