Honestly, I think the Buccaneer would serve you better on dirt. My KPM is fine on gravel/dirt, but I put proper dual sport tires on it. The stock tires were scary on dirt roads around here. If your "back roads" are going to include a lot of gravel/dirt, you'd likely need to invest in tires for the KPM to feel safe.
