Checking belt of CVT

I figured my belt in my cvt transmission was getting in bad shape so I took the cover off to inspect plus to see about installing a kick start. The only way to get the cover all the way off is to take the floorboards off also.I was ready to do this but after I seen the belt was in fine condition I decided not to go any further. As for the kick start,I will have to buy the kit plus a spring retainer and bolt or at least I hope it will be that easy. That is not included in the kit.As for the cover it has the hole for the kick start shaft to come thru.In the second photo I was trying to see if I had the place for the spring retainer and I did.

The cover will need to come all the way off just so you can make sure you have all the places in your cover for the parts to fit into.

You will have to heat up and press on the kick start gear on the crank shaft after removing the variator. It's a lot to do to install a kick start so be sure and watch all the video's you can before attempting,I know I will.Be a good winter project.

The main reason I want a kick start, right after I first got it,I took it into the woods and it died.Your going to laugh when you find out the reason for it dying,I thought maybe the spark plug had quit firing,I sit there and cranked it and cranked it,then the battery starting giving out.I took the spark plug out and seen that it was getting spark.By chance I took the gas cap off and seen that it was out of gas.So I walked back to the house and got the tractor along with jumper cables and some gas.Lucky I was able to get the tractor close enough to it to jump it but if I had had a kick start I think it would have started as soon as the gas got into the cylinder.

Went ahead and took the foot well off so I could get the CVT cover all the way off to get some measurements. To my surprise it already has the kick start gear pressed on to the crankshaft. After taking some measurements I went ahead and ordered a 168mm kick start shaft spindle plus a 98mm kick start idle gear.Supposedly all come with required bushings and washers. Also had to order the kick start spindle spring holder. Also ordered 2 kick start levers with the intent of sending one back after seeing which one I like better, already received one of them.

Looks like it's time for the new battery I bought back right after I got the atv,3rd time it has stranded me here in the last 2 weeks. If I had all the parts for my kick start, I wouldn't have been stranded.Yesterday I had to pack a lawnmower battery and some makeshift jumper cables into the woods down by the creek to jump start it.Got to put the electrolyte in the new battery and charge it a little bit before I put it on there.Should have all my kick start parts by next week, last tracking info says it was here in the USA on the 27th.

Also starting to notice my muffler has a rattling sound going on inside of it now plus it seems to be getting louder.
