Help me identify this connector?

I took my engine out, and this connector crumbled a bit in my hand. Not really sure what its for. Does anyone know what this is? The last picture is where it came out of.

Gear position sensor, most likely. It's not really necessary.

Looks like you're right...hope I can find another one, all I see on amazon is the 5-wire version. Mine is only 2 wires?

It might be a neutral switch, it's just to turn a light on the dash, it's not mission critical, I wouldn't worry about it.
