2021 Tbr7 ticking noise, already adjusted valve clearance.

My 2021 TBR7 is making a ticking noise coming from the motor and I’ve already adjusted the valve clearances. I’ve done the old screwdriver trick and everything and have located it to being what sounds like possibly right below the valves. I’ve been hearing that a cam chain adjustment should be the next move but was wondering what you guys that have these bikes thought. I’d really appreciate any advice. Also, I have heard that the ticking could be normal but coming from somebody who just purchased his first dirtbike I wouldn’t know much at all.

The tbr7 does not have a cam chain. It’s a gear driven valve train with push rods. The ticking is most likely the valves tappets. If you have adjusted them correctly then it’ll be fine. The saying with these motors is “ clappy valves are happy valves”

It's most likely just your lifters, this is a pushrod bike, so no cam chain to worry about. These engines do have (relatively) noisy valves, but if you let the engine cool off overnight and recheck your clearances, as long as they're not off, there's probably nothing wrong with it.
