raphaelrjr is this your first motorcycle? If so just be very careful and dont ride it without a helmet.

So far you have :

kill switch = ON
fuel..........= ON
key..........= ON
choke.......= ON
bike is in neutral
kick stand is up (our bikes dont have that annoying switch-yeah they're old school )

As it has been suggested go get a charger for it and charge the battery good.

Also and I must stress this do not DO NOT use starting fluid to help it start.

It should start but may take little bit of effort the first time or two until you figure out exactly what it likes/needs to start.(all machines seem to be a bit different)

And turn off the lights on the bike while starting. It will just eat vital power from the starter.

Teamcheap: What's the problem with using starting fluids?? It's just ether as far as I know.

The Hi Bird's headlight runs off the AC circuit; it's not tied to the battery. Don't have to worry about leaving the key in the ON position.

Generally its a bad thing but yes I have used it but I would never EVER think to use it on a new engine.

There are four bolts for the headlight for the HB. They are pretty solid.
