Hawk 250 Bulbs

Does anyone know what type of turn signal and brake light bulbs the Hawk takes? I would like to have a couple of spares handy. The manual doesn't specify. Thanks!

The original rear tail/Brake is a 2057, which is a low power version of an 1157. I have an LED 1157 in mine.

Originial turn signal bulbs are 5008 miniature socket style bulbs.

Has anyone installed LED turn signals drop in? No blink issues?

The reason I ask is I see an adjustable box sold to help the voltage work the blink rate correctly. Was hesitant to get bulbs to have to get a box to make it work right.

You can always change out the Rear Turn Signal Bulbs to LED leaving the front bulbs stock... doing this the combination of bulbs usually uses plenty of juice for the stock flasher relay to work properly.

You will probably have to install resistors.

Just change the flasher can to LED style which is electronic rather then Bimetal strip type

License Plate Bulb

How about that little license plate light? I appears to be a type of push in bulb. I would like to put an LED in there. I think there is one in the headlight reflector to for some kind of DRL set up.

You'd be better off clipping the DTR light in the head light and pulling the positive to a USB port adapter box.
Then your USB is on ignition and headlight switch so you don't kill the battery. My USB saved my SENA on a long ride. Coms are awesome when you ride together.

That's not a bad idea! I would still like to replace the license plate lamp with an LED.
