Titled it in New York for a mail order Lifan GY5
I went to the DMV to title my new 07 and all went well. I thought there would be a sticking point due to the fact the MOS had "TMS" as the make of the bike and the model was printed as TMS200GY-5. Where as the bill of sale was for a LF200GY-5. On the application, I put Lifan as the make of the bike and apparently, thats the way it went through. The MOS had the importer written in on the back as Rabbit Scooters with no notery stamp. I asked the teller if there were problems registering these Chinese Motorcycles and she said no and that they have done "quite a few" of them. So there you have it. A manufactures statement of origin that was mailed out to me pre filled out with me as the buyer and the importer name and address signed w/ importer number. In addition to a bill of sale (for sales tax) is all I needed to get a 50 dollar title. Now a reg is a non issue in the spring.

Wow, consider yourself lucky. Those of us out here in the Socialist Republic of Kaliforniastan have giant issues getting ANYTHING registered outside the dealer.
