RX3 Rack

I shamelessly stole this from Joe's blog. It's of their last Crystal Lake ride. Does anyone know if this guy's a China Rider here and where he may have gotten the rack??? It appears to be a slick setup. It looks like he got rid of the gray hand grabs and it really cleaned it up!

You have to scroll down a ways.....

But... what is the advantage of that rack over the (sturdy) original grab/rack?

That is the rail for the tourfella luggage. He said that you can order it from CSC without the luggage. That info was from a FB post.

Probably no real advantage. Just different and I like tube racks. Many more strapping options.

Thanks! It's what I get for being one of the last people on Earth who's never been on Facebook.

The other thing about this rack is that the keyhole mounts work for Tourfella AND Touratech luggage. If you buy it with the side mounts, they help with offroad crash protection for the bike, also support the Tourfella and Touratech luggage but also make nice standoffs and mounts for soft luggage. Also on the top box plate it's pre-drilled for Rotopax mounts making it easy to put on on the top. Since the side case mounts are the same size as some of the Touratech ones you can get adapters to plates to easilty mount rotopax on the sides if you wanted. then you could sling your soft luggage over them and keep all the weight low.

I have the Tourfella luggage system and have done the above things...works great!

Only thing to know is the left side pannier mount was built for the older RX3 with the narrower turn signals. If when you mount yours you find the turn signal is going to be in the way you can shim it out with a longer SS bolt and 3 nylon lock nuts.
