An interesting project.
I have just been given a broken 125cc motor, it's been running on the road with the "off road" gearing. It's survived 2500 miles doing 8000rpm most of the time!!! I've got it striped to see if the gearbox will fit in my 6 speed casings. After a quick look I think I'm on to a winner if I use everything, there'll be a couple of little modifications to do and I'll loose the neutral light. The primary drive ratio is 25% lower so I'm assuming (as I've not counted teeth yet) that the ratios in the gearbox are higher. I'll take pics and do a better description when I get around to it next week.

Look forward to it! I had thought of installing a 125cc engine in place of the broken down 200cc, but found the "deal" I was looking for, which ended up broken, too.

No, its kinda sad halfway apart. I think that the rest of it will get turned into a target. I will never trust myself with that bike again...I will just start over somewhere, somehow!

I've been counting gear teeth and comparing ratios, things are not good, the 125 gear ratios are going to be 25% lower, to adjust this with the rear sprockets would need 32 teeth on the rear, it's not physically possible. The 6 speed clutch being electric start only is fundementally different from the kick start clutch, so I can't swap the gear rings over on the baskets to retain the 6 speed primary drive.
