Happy Solstice!

Shortest day of the year today and glad to be in the Arizona desert rather than at home in the Oregon high desert. Snow, rain, wind are on the forecast for home but 70 degrees and partly cloudy today in Bouse. Took the quad for a ride up a super highway of a wash to visit some shallow caves. Riding a quad is sure a lot more enjoyable than a skinny tire motorcycle in these deep gravel washes.

It looks like a nice day in Arizona. The days start getting longer from this point onward.

The more south you go (i.e. Yuma area) the worse the terrain is. Two wheeled bikes are not enjoyable around Yuma unless you have a sand paddle. That is why I chose my TMEC enduro with the street tires because I knew my off-roading would be nil to none around here.

Quads are the way to go (or UTVs or dune buggies, etc) in this part of Arizona.

A couple friends have TW200s with the big fat rear tire. They do much better in the sand and gravel than skinny tire bikes but still not as good as an ATV.

I've been looking at average speed on the GPS after my rides and found it's usually around 10 mph. Nice being able to crawl around slowly and view the scenery.

Thought this saguaro growing in the mouth of a cave was interesting.

Your doing exactly what I want to do! That's why I posted about converting my truck to camp survive in. I want to camp in Michigan's upper peninsula with no running water or power.I want to carry a pitbike and a three wheeler. The wheeler in the bed and a bumper mounted pitbike carrier.I have someone to build bumpers for it and maybe a exo shell. So I can haul water on the sides. Right now I'm soundproofing the cab and in between each layer I put a sheet of Kevlar and another layer of deadening.I'm doing the whole cab, and taking out the carpet and just run a rubber work truck floor so I can spray out sand .I was planning on finding lightweight waterproof seats. So I can just powerwash it clean!I'm putting a great system in it that's why it has to be soundproofed.I'm not using very big amps so it doesn't have to fight wind and road noise. Then the tire roar.
