So would I, but not with an open centrifugal clutch like that. If I decided on no transmission, it would be a Comet TAV. If I wanted to shift, I'd use the bottom end of a small two stroke engine for the clutch and gears. That would also get me a stator for lights and battery charging.

I think that I would use a Comet TAV. Not sure if the electric start models have a charging system.

I bet they do. That would make the project a lot easier.

Sometimes it is only a few amps. Enough to recharge the battery.

An LED headlight and flashers, and you're set. That stuff has become very reasonably priced.

Allen, that Zong looks mint! With inexpensive parts from Taobao, I'm sure you could fix that motorcycle very inexpensively.

Slipping clutch, not charging. Missing key. That is all I know. For me right now it is not really a practical item. Weld is interested.

I'm sure he can fix all those problems fairly easily and inexpensively. However, he might only want the engine.

Indeed, I'm primarily interested in the engine, but I might be able to make use of a few other parts as well.
I'd never get the frame across the border, since that product wasn't imported into Canada. Parts are no problem.

We will be starting a Weld pile. This Zong with get the chance to live on. The PO agreed that donating it was not the best choice since they would not know how to fnd parts.
I am going to start a new thread for the rest of the parts. I have shelf space for them right now.
