Zongshen no longer manufactures my 200GY-2 motorcycle, but that doesn't mean it had mechanical problems. I suspect Yamaha didn't like Zongshen selling clone motorcycles for prices much lower than Yamaha.

I'm guessing that's a reference to the graduated licensing program. CBT is Compulsory Basic Training.

CBT as weldagrind said is the compulsory basic training. Here in the uk we need to have that that allows us to ride upto 125cc with L plates for upto 2 years without taking another test. The date is todays as i have now completed it and passed . The theory test is another test we have to sit at a computer showing that we know about our highway code, and are hazard aware. From then we do Module 1 and module 2 that ultimately allow us to ride any size bike we want, Well it will for me at my age lol. More info can be found Here http://www.ridesafe.net/cbt_training.html, Here http://www.ridesafe.net/das_theory_test.html, Here http://www.ridesafe.net/direct_access.html and Here http://www.ridesafe.net/upto_125cc.html

Good to know.

I'll tell you what, Weld is smart to have figured that out!

Parts are available. Many will cross refrence with Yamaha parts. The Zongshen distributer (here in the US, at least) will provide pretty much anything but not without some frustration, apparantly...

There is a Chinese operation that can get you any other parts cheap, but the shipping is a bit of an issue. Tao Bo or something like that, IIRC.

Other parts, like the forks, are likely semi-generic Chinabike parts and easy to come by.

All you guys on here are smart and helpfull. There is one place that i know of here in the Uk that supplies parts for the Zongshen, as to how they ship i don't know as yet but should the need arise i will report for any other users that may benefit from it. I got told it could be early June before i have all i need to be able ride this bike :( i was hoping it would be sooner lol.

I've visited the website for that Zongshen parts vendor in the U.K. They have a wide selection of Zongshen parts, but the prices are a bit high. You can buy any parts you need from Taobao in China. Here's a list of parts I found by using the search term "ZX250GS."

Thanks Spud, saved. It will take a little work to get registered, and it seems a little vague in ordering, as it says something about check your order carefully, as they need to contact the vender and we should only contact them at our own peril :?.

Several of us here at China Riders have ordered parts from Taobao with good success. I used an agent at TBTrends.com. The agent will facilitate your order by acquiring the parts in China from a variety of vendors, then shipping all the parts in one parcel to your home.
