Exactly what I was thinking. My Grandparents were raised during the Great Depression, and I learned a lot from them.

I suspect that many of us here are similarly frugal.

We have one of those large poly cans on wheels for trash. About 60 gallons. We may fill it to one third everyweek. Our recycle bin is usually overflowing.

I look at excess as spending I don't need to do. Now when it comes to tractors and tools. :(

If its metal it goes in the scrap pile. Organic waste in the composter. Paper, cardboard, plastic in the recycle bin.

In general North Americans are wasteful. Most of us chinariders are cheapskates.

I agree completely. We China Riders are definitely more frugal, and less wasteful than the average North American.

An excellent philosophy. Much like aimless spraying from a can of lube; whatever hits the floor is a waste. That's why I often spray lube onto a cloth and then apply it to whatever (if applicable).

There is no curb service recycling here. The only way to recycle is to seperate it and drive somewhere. I don't know where.

I don't think they have curb service in Kansas either. Sounds like I need to take it someplace also. They do pick up yard waste.

What's that all about? There's got to be a heck of a lot more bits in the car. Seats, electronics, A/C, literally hundreds of things a bike lacks.

My bike gets 41 MPG. About the same as a Honda Civic or any number of other generic $%&*boxes out on the road that cost HALF what the Wing costs. Plus they have 5 seats, A/C, power every power everything.

Don't get me wrong, I'd rather ride Little Sweetie or just about any bike than drive just about any car but we gotta admit we're getting gouged.
they could sell the bike for the same prise as the car..
IF they sold as meany..
The old saying.. the more of something you can sell the cheaper you
can sell them for..

Linda and I took the Gold Wing for a 250 mile ride yesterday through the Kittitas Mountains to the Columbia River Gorge to Maryhill for the art museum and for some wine tasting (90% Linda on the wine tasting  ).

In the mountains I ran the Wing fairly hard :P and on the highway on the way back we ran 75-80 (radar detector in place but thats close to the speed limit on this road anyways).

The Wing got 40.2 MPG.

It's interesting high speed and around town MPG's are so similar.

I usually calculate MPG's and it's usually 40-44. Never really any more or less.

Sounds like the Powerstroke diesels. I don't think the mileage changes, even if you're towing a trailer.
