That sure looks a lot like an R6 engine. I love the naked bike look, the right side shock and the trellis frame. Well done. I'd never buy a bike with that riding position, but it's good looking.

I rode my buddy's R6, and I believe the 88hp claim. 8O

Great find, Oldgringo, between your current shooting assignment of your old cars of Peru book! This seems intriguing everywhere but in the Americas due to pricing, and the unknown brand (not that they were planning to bringing these over to North and South America, anyway); interesting from coming from a Chinese manufacturer, however. I won't hold my breath seeing as to what happened with the very promising Xingyue 400 series here in the Americas. I know the pricing would make it prohibitive this way (North America), and the fact that Brazil probably manufacturers something similar but under the Honda name (Central and South America), but I can see how it would make sense in Europe from a pricing standpoint, but here?? (due to the Canadian tariffs, it would probably cost as much as a Ducati or something like it making it a definite "why the h%$l would I buy this????!!! and in the US "I can buy a 3 year old GSXR600 for half the cost")

culcune, Japanese motos are expensive here (a Super Tenere is US $24,000), China and Peru have a free trade agreement and Chinese motos are reasonable. I think there would be a market for the RK600 here.

I think I was little shortsighted when I wrote my disertation; I forgot that many countries of Central and South America have the heavy import duties. The Canadian members have mentioned and complained about their duties, as well, but at least, in Canada, the prices for bikes are about on par with each other which makes buying Chinese bikes over Japanese bikes not a worthwhile endeavor (One of our Canadian members could confirm this). I have a feeling that this bike would not be much of a savings over an equivalent Japanese bike in Canada. In the US, we always seem to have a glut of bikes, at least in the big cities, which makes a used Japanese bike a far more attractive deal (appearance wise at least)

Thanks for informing us of this interesting, Chinese motorcycle, OG.

As with Weldangrind, I don't care for the forward riding position of sport motorcycles. I wish the Chinese would make a faithful copy of the Honda XR400R.

The looks of that bike really appeal to me.

Sometimes I think to myself, "Maybe there's still room in my life for one more GSXR 1000." :P

It's been a long time since I've had a liter class superbike.
