A great day on the dunes with the YZ400!
I LOVE riding on the sand dunes :P ! It was just a matter of having the right tool for the job and the YZ fits the bill perfectly. I love the power, suspension, and chassis on this bike 8O . It makes all things easier.
Before long I was going up and down stepp tall sand dunes without fear. I never had such a good time there before. All the stuff I'd AVOID on the other bikes because it was too deep or too steep and I'd get stuck I was seeking out today :P . This critter has amazing power. Leave it in third. If it starts to slow down too much don't bother downshifting, just flick your wrist and the wheelspin gets you on top of the sand RIGHT NOW! FastDoc and FastBike. No sidestand yet. I just dig it into the sand to stay upright while I rested. A BEAUTIFUL day today. We had a large group of friends and friend's friends. :P FastDoc cooling off. Riding this beast on the dunes is a workout! Don't worry, the camera adds 10 pounds. I don't really have a pooch... The YZ cooling off. My buddy Roger. He's looking at a YZ400 Tuesday. :P What a great day with great people. Life is VERY good. :P

I covet your bike. The only bike I'd like more than that is the WR version. Thanks for the pics.

I rode a WR450 yesterday also.
Even MORE power, softer/smoother ride, lights, and electric start. An awesome machine. My surprising take home message from riding the 400 was... More power and less weight seems to be safer and easier to ride.

Thanks for posting the nice photos, Doc. I agree; stronger and lighter is a safer, more enjoyable combination.

Thanks Timmy. Indeed the wide open West has some great riding opportunities.
