A long day in the saddle

No pics yet, that might be Monday, but I put 413 miles on the CX today. And doing it again on Sunday. Just let me say that Aki's CDI box worked flawlessly. Temps in the 80s, speeds from 25 to 75 mph and I averaged 53 mpg.

I rode from my place in East Dundee, IL to my sister's place in Trego, WI. Most was done on secondary roads with the last 100 miles done on a 4 lane highway.

My butt is sore and I have numb fingers, but if this is the worst, bring on Sunday.

A partial Flickr set of yesterday. Crosswinds were pretty rough between Mauston and Osseo, so no pics until I got to Trego.

Will have more pics later.

That is such a nice bike; I'm a real Comstar fan. I like the GPS on your tank.

Lol, I like the GPS too!
It's good to be able to navigate like that though, I'm so hopeless that I get lost even with a GPS

Bike does look great though, brings back a lot of old memories

Wow, 10 hours, 408 miles today. Spent the first 100 miles at 75 or better. Hit 85mph passing a pickup pulling an old Farmall, rode through hail, had a bee in my helmet, and wasted over an hour in traffic jams in the Wisconsin Dells, Portage, WI, and where US12 drops down to one lane in Genoa City, WI. The e-fan paid for itself today.

Stopped at a wayside outside of Columbus, WI where a couple of guys asked me about the bike. While talking to them, another guy parks next to the bike and his wife runs over to look at the bike while telling me "This was the first bike we owned when we got married. Had it until we got our Goldwing." Hubby had a lot questions and offered up some pointers.

Thanks for all the comments, especially about my GPS. It is what I use.

Here is the updated Flickr set. Enjoy. http://www.flickr.com/photos/2149929...7634512373936/

Lol, they like to ricochet off your knee and bounce up under your chin bar... They're quite angry when they get over being stunned!

I did a panic stop with my Shadow once, my wife kept asking what was wrong. When I opened the visor and shook the big (and still very alive!) yellow jacket out she almost fainted! Lol!

Awesome pics Cheesy! Nice old Interstate in the garage there!

Imagine the looks on the faces of cagers around you. "Did you see that guy? He was riding along, and then he just snapped! I think he was having a seizure!"

I'm only bumping this thread because my Mom gave me a photo that she took last July of the CX and I leaving my sisters' place in Trego, WI.

Great pic!

Hopefully you will be riding soon.

My next jacket will be Day-glo. I'll look like a moron on the Duck but if it keeps me from getting run over its worth it.
