Bigger engines for Chinese bikes?

As far as road bikes go, there are a few out there that were sold in the US. You can keep your eyes out for a CF Moto 650NK. There are a few new ones still floating around out there. Again, these bikes are generally several thousand dollars. You can still find 2014 and 2015 CF Moto 650's for sale with zero miles on them. I understand that there were issues with the CFMotos that kind of killed them off here. A year or two after losing them, they stepped up and improved them. There was a Chinabike HATER on mychinamoto, an expat living in China, who ended up getting a model of the CFMoto which would have been a year or two after they left the US market, and he ended up taking back what he had thought of Chinese bikes. He has tens of thousands of miles on his, and has ridden from China to Europe and back on his. Sad we never got to see them with the improvements. I cannot recall what particular issue made them out to be dismissed here, but CFMoto simply stopped bringing in their two-wheel offerings to the US.
