1 hour cruise with heated jacket
Last night here in Ny it got to 20 with the windchill. I froze my butt off but did about a 50 mike trip and saw one biker on the rode. I love Ny but hate these winters havha

Does that mean that the jacket can't compensate for a ride at 20 degrees?

It's a nice jacket, very nice for $54. It looks similar to a Mountain Hardware type jacket I have, but a little less styling details.
It only has heating pads/elements across the shoulders and chest. None in the arms or lower half, and it's not a heavy winter coat. I wouldn't expect it to be warm at 20f on a motorcycle. It might be warm enough at 20f hiking, or maybe at ATV speeds. I probably won't test it much below 30f. I really like mine, but haven't even tested it outside yet. It's been very cozy lounging inside soothing sore muscles like a super heating pad! Cold weather's here, so I'll be testing it outside in the next few days. |

However, if you wear a windproof outer jacket over the Heatcore jacket, you can remain reasonably comfortable riding a motorcycle in temperatures above 40 degrees Fahrenheit, especially if it's a sunny day. As in my other thread, I recommend people read the Web Bike World review of the Milwaukee, M12 jacket. http://www.webbikeworld.com/heated-m...jacket-review/

To be comforatble at 20 degrees at highway speed you need good quality motorcycle/snowmobille specific heated gear, and the a Gold Wind blocking the wind for you ;-)
Even so, that's the lower limit for me, and then only when the sun is out.
