The ride home
I picked up my bike today. I hopped on after having been away from these machines for over 20 years. Everything felt great and I set out for home. Now I only had about 5 miles to drive, but numerous slick spots kept me on my toes. I drove across a metal grid suspension bridge and slipped and slid a little too. I guess this is as close to an extreme sport as my fat rear is likely to get.
I plan to venture further tomorrow. The weather calls for 39F and I can handle that, I have a down filled coat which is usually too warm so it actually keeps my torso warm quite well, even with the wind blowing. Although I did get a nice case of brain freeze as my helmet vents were open. It was sort of like drinking a slushy too fast except the sensation was on the back of my head. |

The first ride on a new bike is always the sweetest.
