2017 Apollo 250 RX - Sprocket install

I just installed a new 52T sprocket. Along with it I installed a new 530 O ring Chain. The chain I purchased was a 530 o ring 120 link. I had a company named PBI Sprockets make me the sprocket. It was 80 shipped, and I had the sprocket 3 days after my order was made. It fit perfectly with no issues.

I did not change the front sprocket, and was able to keep the chain gaurd on with no modifications however it is very close to the chain, and I will be making an extension bracket for some addional clearance. This changed my gear ratio from about a 2.73 to a 3.73. The 1st gear is short but usable, but all the gears pull good. I did loose some top end, but never came close to that in the dirt, just when on the street.

* Center bore measured at 58mm
* Bolt hole size is 10.5mm
* Bolt pattern is 4 by 90mm

Found this post and wanted to say thanks! I ordered a 12 tooth primary and 48 rear. I wil see how that works

Thumbs Up Follow upon Sprocket change

You can really tell the difference. The front wheel will come up easier. 1st is super short but all I do is trail riding. Very impressed thanks again

You're welcome. I agree, it made a huge difference. The bike pulls very nice, and pulls strong up hill.

How does this build order look?

For regular trails is 52t good or should i go for 48 for less power?

Here is a link to a 48t rear sprocket installed using a 12t front. You will notice the chain is in line with the chain guide.

On my bike, I recently installed some drop brackets to lower my chain guide. I did this so the chain is more inline with the guide. I'll post up a picture tonight.

I went to their website and it seems they don't make custom sprockets anymore. Mine was custom made by them.

I always change both sprockets at same time,and chain. A worn front sprocket with new back sprocket and chain,makes no since to me. Just my thoughts.

With that rationale you should be changing the front sprocket 4 times for every rear sprocket change! The front sprocket contacts the chain 4x for each rear sprocket turn.

You are going to be trashing a lot of 1/4 worn out rear sprockets because you changed both at once.

Dual sport crowd loves 42T to increase hwy speed. I totally get it but I only use the road to get to the dirt, so I stuck with the 49T (stock) on the 5 speed templar X (13RT front, OEM). I was on the trail just before it got stupid wet again (it has been a wet Spring) and was thinking 2nd was too tall. JT sprockets' JTR 210 comes with up to 53 teeth. Which JTR is compatible with the Apollo 250 RX??

My first access to "dirt" is 200 miles down the interstate, so I opted for the 17/40 combination and it makes for an excellent country road cruising bike.

My first tire swap will be for street treads. I can not even put 50/50 tread to use.

All my "dirt" riding is done on bigger cc bikes that can handle the long highway pulls.

I know this is an old thread, but maybe someone knows which JT sprocket is compatible with the Apollo 250 RX. This bike is like a 229cc version of Templar X. Nice components and build.

Does anyone know which JTR is compatible with the Apollo 250 RX?? Rear? Front? JT has a broad range of sprocket sizes.
