Honda now makes an RX3

Honda has answered CSC with the CRF250L Rally. It will cost over 6 grand out the door, and no bags or top case are standard. I doubt that CSC sees the new Honda Rally as a serious threat to their sales.

I've said this 1000 times. You can buy a Honda CB500X left over, put bags on it, and add crash protection cheaper. I have right at $6000 in mine. I take it offroad regularly. I wouldn't take it deep in like a dirt bike tho. I also have other farkles that I add to all my bikes, be it a brand name Japanese bike or a Chinese play bike. The CRF250L can be upgraded to better suspension with bags and add-ons for about the same price. It'll also perform better than the mini African twin, Rally CRF250. It makes me and wonder why Honda made this bike.

I think its a market share competition thing. One company can't get all the share in a segment so every manufacturer has to throw their hat in the ring to compete for the piece of the pie. Suddenly they all producing small bikes as before they were left to the Chinese producers.

because Honda's bean counters won't sign off on a new single platform bike..
The AT was a big move for Honda & thats about it for a few years...
build a scooter then turn it into a road bike & a ADV bike ie NC700 & NC750
lets take our 500 twin road bike & make it into a ADV bike.. CB500X..
now theres the ADVX scooter....

So a rally version of the CRF250L was the best that the engineers were able to do
to compete with the kawasaki/Suzuki small ADV bikes...

Offcourse this is all internet info... true or false who knows....

There is talk of a CRF450 rally... will be a while off like Yamaha's 300 Tenere...

PS.. I really don't think the Japs will be competeting in the RX3 market... The Japs have a build standard..
So the RX3 will have the entry level market to it's self for a while yet... But there are a few second string
companys that may look at it with interest..
Aprilla is already having a nibble at it with there Chinese powered 150cc budget ADV bike...
